                  Accessibility Statement

World Moyamoya Alliance (WMA) is dedicated to providing a website that offers thorough and comprehensive accessibility to the broadest possible audience, regardless of technology, ability, or geographic location. We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and in doing so, cohere to many of the available online/website standards and guidelines.

WMA is made up of a group of moyamoya patients, family members, friends, and interested persons who are trying to raise awareness, support innovative research, and improve lives of those affected by moyamoya. As used in our policies, terms, and conditions sections, and across the remainder of this website, “we”, “us” and “our” refers to World Moyamoya Alliance and the WMA team.

This site was built in collaboration between our board of directors and website designers, with overall accessibility as a priority.  In designing the functionality of our website, we were mindful of assistive technologies and adaptive resources (such as, but not limited to screen magnifier systems, text-to-speech systems, translation technology tools, and voice amplification systems), and how they would interact with our website. We strive for our web content to be accessible for people with disabilities and that it be welcoming and user-friendly for all people.

In cooperation with WCAG 2.1 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) compliance, we aim to follow the four basic principles of providing a perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust website.

While WMA aims to adhere to accepted website guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability for those with auditory, cognitive, language, learning, neurological, physical, speech, and visual disabilities, we recognize that doing so in all areas of our website and social media outlets, 100% of the time, is not always possible. Further, we cannot guarantee the accessibility and usability of outbound, external links on our WMA website and social media platforms to other domain resources.

We regularly seek solutions that will bring all areas and aspects of our website and other online WMA advocacy/awareness platforms to an equal level of overall web accessibility, providing the most optimal user experience possible. Should you experience any difficulty accessing the WMA website, please feel free to contact us at:
