Today, our World Moyamoya Alliance team would like to honor and celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Decades after his activist efforts, he continues to have a tremendous influence on our team's leadership and how we strive to serve others. Reflecting on personal, firsthand experience, utilizing insight and discernment, our team recognizes that there is an incredible need and room for growth in the pursuit of improving circumstances around the world for those affected by moyamoya.
With that in mind, our diverse World Moyamoya Alliance team is committed, collaborative, courageous, determined and driven in our efforts to serve the moyamoya community. We believe our mission and goals, focused on implementing positive change and sustainable progress, are ones worth fighting for. We know that each and every moyamoya patient and family, who inspire us daily, are worth fighting for.
Because of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s innovative efforts and civil rights reformation success, we know that in working together, similar positive change and medical equality are possible for the moyamoya community. Dr. King stated, "All labor that uplifts humanity has dignity and importance, and should be undertaken with painstaking excellence." He also said, "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."
Thank you, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. for your leadership, philosophy and teachings, and for having always demonstrated your selfless love of humanity. Your character and legacy will forever remain admirable and an inspiration to all.
